October 21, 2023 - Exceeded expectations. Put on weight with air time. Good complexity on both nose and palate.

October 16, 2022 - Sunday Salon (Chicago, IL): Funky to the point I wondered if it could have been slightly corked (it wasn't). The fruit here is really lovely, and there's a depth and richness that I really like. I just wish that this was a lot cleaner. Autumnal in its damp leaves and mushroom notes.

September 10, 2021 - Acker's COVID-Vaccinated BYO Dinner and Auction Simulcast (Craft - New York NY): Seemed slightly corked, otherwise very, very musty.

October 1, 2012 - Maureen Nelson comes to town and we drink mostly red Burgs. (Il Corso.): Jeff warned us that his last bottle wasn't so good, but this one showed nicely. Definitely smells like old Burgundy with its funky, earthy note, but there's some fruit lurking in there. Indeed, it does show a nice core of cherries and sweetened rhubarb that's expansive across the palate . That said, it's cloaked in a robe of mustiness and dirt. Certainly time to drink up, but I thought this held its own. B/B+.

April 28, 2012 - From a nice looking auction bottle, this wine had a medium red center and tawny rims. The medium+ intensity nose featured black cherries, cola, rhubarb, and soil.

I had this wine several times 10 years ago and at the time I thought it was light bodied, tasty and refined. Now I find it to have some notable rounded tannin, firm acidity, and a reasonable finish. It was a bit course but overall pretty nice.

I think I would be in favor of drinking this up as I don't believe it will get better.

January 25, 2006 - Third place of three Burgundys but easily a winner. Lovely, rich sweet smelling dark fruit on the nose, more of the same on the palate, mouthfilling but slightly less appealing taste than the other two this evening, medium finish, nice aftertaste. This wine went well with the French Brie!
