March 23, 2013 - Much better showing than the previous bottle. Cooked cherry, earth, plum, smoke, brambly blackberry, flowers, a little wood, and a hint of dill on the nose. Tangy berries, red and black cherries, licorice, earth, and some herbs on the palate. Tangy acidity, good though slightly bitter finish. This was very nice with Italian red sauce. Would buy again. 88-89

March 29, 2012 - Earthy cherry, berry soda, a little plum, a few flowers, and a little wood on the nose. It's not earthy in an Italian sort of way, but more like upturned wet earth. Light cherry, berry, and quite a bit of spice on the palate. Ends roughly, but some nice cherry and oak lingers. Overall, not bad (with food), but seems to lack some of the fruit and concentration that the previous vintage had. 86-87

June 26, 2011 - On first opening the nose is pie cherry, sour currant, oak, leather and some cedar spice box. The palate is showing sweet red cherry fruit with drying cedar raspberry and nice peppery spice trailing into the finish.
One hour later the nose is showing currant, cherry, raspberry and earth with a similar palate that includes a bit of spice and finishes with hints of espresso bean and cocoa.
One day later the wine has lost a bit of punch, but is still showing plenty of gusto in the form of currant, dust, toast and white pepper on the nose with a palate of bright dark cherry and hints of cedar spice box with a dry lightly spicy finish.
