January 2, 2023 - Very good, and better with a few more years. This is timeless right now. Decanted one hour before drinking and it was somewhat violet floral at first, with dark cherry and wild blackberry. It actually closed down a bit after the second hour. Tastes of iron and earth, black cherry and pepper, bitter chocolate. Still smell the violet and cherry after two hours. This has a long time still ahead to improve but the tannins are diminishing but not gone. Good with venison.

October 19, 2016 - needed good filter, as large amount of sediment . Big extracted style, with minerals, iron filings, mocha coffee. roast meat, and white/black pepper. tannins now soft. At 21 yrs of age, very impressive, alas my last bottle.

May 22, 2012 - Steely minerality with some rusty red fruits. A touch of oak and creaminess on the finish. The wine has incredible acidity and backbone given its age. Could go another 5 years without any issue. Drank over 3 days. Great with food.
