December 8, 2011 - My first experience with red Loire was Clos Rougeard, so everything else is likely to disappoint. A simple wine, this is a pleasant, fruity wine, but not my style.

September 5, 2011 - Terroir-istes International - Cabernet Franc from around the World (Rodwell House): Wine 9 and 12 are only 100 metres from each other, on sandy soils with some clay, therefore riper styles. Medium ruby, this has that floral lifted character typical of Chinon. Pristine, fresh, ripe raspberry, red berries, and almost freshly baked tinned red plums.
Sweet entry, there is a stinky tinned cherry texture, some tobacco and singed charcoal notes that had an edgy texture, almost harsh. Ripe with firm acidity and chalky tannins in keeping with Cab Franc. The finish is long with a chewy, almost stalky feel yet ripe. Medium alcohol, this is a lovely fleshy, pure wine.
