March 14, 2018 - Slightly volatile acid, big oak on top of ripe barossa fruit. Not sure age has helped at all as i remember this being ok when young. Heavy going.

August 27, 2011 - A very dark red to purple in colour, the nose is steeped in oak, as is the case with most of Colonial Estate's wines, there is however ripe plum and cinnamon influences that more than hold their own.
The palate shows good elegance and is lighter on it's feet than the nose suggests, with spicy dark cherry and plum slowly building in concentration as it combines with firm tannins. The finish has excellent length that is capped off by rich cedary oak.
