March 5, 2011 - This wine was gone, maybe due to bad cellering. The smell is still very interesting, and the first taste is not bad. But after a few seconds in the mouth it turns dry and sour.

January 4, 2010 - Finally, christmas and an mature Rioja! You can almost see through the wine in the glass, the color is brownish almost like copper. Beautiful wine to look at! At first the aroma is somewhat disgusting, and I was afraid it was corked. The smell of cellar and wet leaves dominates at first, but after just a few minutes it starts to grow and show tones of red roses and some sweet red fruit (strawberry?) combined with light oak. The bouquet is really nice and I sniffed it a long time! The mouthfeel can be summarized in one word: "silk". No tannins what so ever! The fruit and acidity is still there, but are declining. This is an old-world wine where the acidity dominates. Overall this wine was over the top, mainly becuse of bad cellaring, but it was still interesting and well worth drinking.
