Community Tasting Notes 6

October 6, 2011 - Wasn't expecting much, given the other reviews, but this was quite nice. Good red fruit on the dried cherry side, with the right amount fo acidity and tannin to give it structure and balance. About 1/2 bottle left to reassess tomorrow.

August 22, 2011 - Clearing out things, and figured this might be over the hill. It is, though perhaps not as much as I expected. A terroir wine, with lots of soil character, mostly faded fruit, some dark herbal character. Medium acids, resolved tannins, but a bit high on the alcohol. Marginally good, not much more left. A suitable fit with Willie's black bean and steak burrito.

March 7, 2009 - Quite good. A liitle alcoholic and warm for my taste

June 14, 2007 - Pretty ruby red, fairly substantial looking. Pleasing nose of strawberry and cherry. Black pepper and firm tannins show up on the palate, along with some vinegary acidity. The tannins almost overwhelm on the finish, but are tolerable. There's some pleasant little fruit here, and the overall package is not bad if you don't mind the tannins. Drinkable, and not awful for the price, but not one I'll buy again.
