December 3, 2012 - Wines on Top of the World Wine Tasting (Ampelosophies, Athens - Greece): Dark brick browning at the rim. Evolved nose indicating overmaturity. Med-full bodied, rich, with firm tannins and overripe fruit. Balancing acidity and a long aftertaste.

December 3, 2012 - Color is deep but fading to brick. Nose also shows signs of fatigue with aromas of ash, leather quite a lot of VA in the form of nail varnish and fruit which is black and raisiny/plummy. Palate is much better though. Very powerful tannins, high acidity yet there is still has some fruit and overall feel is very energetic. Cries out for food. Drinkable and even enjoyable but past its best for sure.

December 21, 2010 - Drank this second bottle nearly 4 years after the first. Popped and poured, tasted and then gave it some much needed time in the glass. After about an hour it started to come into its own with those true Tuscan qualities popping out. Enjoyable on its own, but really enjoyable with the Chicken Parm we had for dinner. Tannins have mellowed big time over the last 4 years but still noticeable. Prevelant dried fruit and leather. Color is rusty garnet and cocoa, almost puts you off a bit if you are like me and drink mostly west coast wines and are used to deep vibrant color. A nice change from our usual. Wish I had more of this...

May 6, 2007 - Maturated for 12 months in oak barrels and 24 months in the bottle.Light ruby to the edges, dark core. Fruity nose (black currants, plums, cherries) and some hints of dust and mushrooms. On the palate medium to full - bodied with very high acidity and aggressive tannins. Still very young. Needs at least 3 - 4 years to became better. Pairs well with pecorino cheese.
