Community Tasting Notes 5

June 2, 2015 - Brilliant rich golden color. 8% alcohol. Slate-driven aromatics with ripe peach/pear notes and a hint (just a hint) of petrol in the background. Really shines on the palate with satisfying depth of flavor and good ripeness yet it keeps it lean with balanced acidity. Clean finish. A delight to drink.

    Outstanding.

    Sample for review.

September 22, 2008 - When I had the first bottle I was far from impressed, but as is often the case with riesling, I then drank it with food and had a much nicer experience. This wine is rich and sweet as befits an '03, but does have enough acidity. Pair it with something really spicy, I had a wonderful dish of steak tips with sriracha, soy, garlic, black pepper, and lime. Those flavors went very well, and even the stir-fried veggies were very good with this.

June 23, 2006 - Very Good. Light straw color, aroma and taste of wet stone, lime, and little green apple. Light body on the fruity side.

December 2, 2005 - Aromas of minerals, smoke, peach and briar. Well balanced and lively finish make this a good food wine.

September 15, 2005 - UWS; A mixed set of wines (@ JB): Concentrated wine with a lot of sweetness as well as acidity. Apple, apricots and apple syrup. Very good wine.
