June 30, 2012 - Dark purple. No decanting. A little hot on the nose initially with intense plum/stewed prune. Perhaps a little cocoa. Smooth over the tounge but a little hot on mid palatte. Medium finish. Concentrated black fruit and prune with a little spice. As alcohol breathed off the spice comes through more. Typical old vine zin but not outstanding.
