November 23, 2022 - This showed very good. At the 20 year mark this still has so much life left and it‘s still at least a decade away from its peak. While it has the Beckstoffer and 2002 ripeness, there is no shred of over-ripeness, over-extraction and I didn’t found any noticeable alcohol. The complexity and elegance are off the charts. 94/95 as it had a muted nose but with upside once the wine settles more, sheds some more of its baby fat and gains tertiary complexity. Still, would I buy it again? No. I have yet find a 2002

TN: Not much of a nose. On the palate there are layers of red and especially darker berries, spices, herbs, minerality and superb, seductive nutty aromas. Super complex and highly precise. Long and intense. All embedded in a very elegant structure with fine, velvety tannins, good freshness, and while elegant, this still needs to shed some weight over the coming years.

Decanting: Decanted for roughly 4 hours which helped the wine to open up on the palate but the nose was gone. Probably gave that a bit too much air

November 12, 2022 - During a blind tasting dinner. Discrete nose, reductive, then ripe and precise on the palate, integrated tannins, cery competent wine, very intensive. Another great American wine tonight. 96+

November 11, 2022 - Tasted blind. Decanted for 4h which was barely enough. Dark cherry and bramble berry fruit and cedar wood are dominant and with their intensity suppress other details, of which I’m convinced there will be more as the aging continues. High octane palate, also showing a bit of heat. The tannin are well built-in, but emerge more noticeably from mid-palate to the finish. Tobacco aftertaste as a nice kicker. Judging from this bottle, this may need another 10 years to reach its peak.

September 20, 2022 - Objectively this is a great wine. Trying not to take the RP100 into account. Screams new world but well built and impressive for 20 years in bottle. Double decanted. Held in air for 2 hours. Integrated and preserved fruit. Lavender/floral nose. Soft feel red fruit no mid palate cocoa/vanilla on shorter than hyped finish. I think my Napa gems will be held 15-20 years more fun with age.

September 18, 2021 - My wife's drunk friend when in my cellar and drank this while I was out at poker. Her name is Molly McFall. If molly it at your house always lock your cellar. CHRIST!
