April 29, 2019 - A show stopper. Floral with stems, wild berries, herbs and spice. Very delicate and transperent with sweet red and black fruit. Silky mouthfeel. No hint of the vintages tart fruit. While I always think Rousseau’s Mazis is underwhelming, this bottle shocked everyone on the table.

January 20, 2018 - St. Vincent (Indianapolis): Spicy, high toned aromatics with lots of herbs, flowers, and some pine needle-like notes around fresh dark and red berried fruit, but this feels both very young, and very 1996 with the palate coming across a touch lean, and a lot of tannic and acidic structure apparent. This is pleasant now, though it really needs a lot more time to come around as the structure feels almost overwhelming when having this without food.

September 22, 2017 - During a dinner with Confrerie friends. The third Rousseau wine of this dinner and another winner. Spicy notes with blackberry, flowers, earth. This has less fund more soil notes and is darker pitched than the Ruchottes but equally attractive. Very good Mazis.

April 10, 2012 - Decanted and drank over a 2 1/2 hour period. Light ruby coloring w/ some brickishness....Nose has lots of earthiness and spice. Wine has good fruit, lots of spice and earthiness and good acidity/crispness. Refreshing but would have liked a slightly longer finish.
