December 25, 2021 - Black licorice, layered with a hint of red licorice, and an earthy expression of that nuits st George sauvage, on the nose. Tangy fresh red fruit drying on the finish. Tasty still but seems on the back end of the drinking window.

February 2, 2020 - Still very much in the drinking window. Black tea, licorice, velvet palate with some red fruits on the finish. I don’t see much room for upside but it’s delicious now.

February 23, 2018 - Served blind. Funky nose, lot of mineral, slightly acrid and tired on the palate. Disappointing showing, but nothing to indicate this was a bad bottle.

June 10, 2016 - Friday Dinner at Friends' House (Pok Fu Lam, Hong Kong): From magnum. Semi-transparent purple-red with slight watering at the rim. Nose is wonderfully feral....damp ferns, damp gundog, lots of undergrowth....lovely. Palate is surprisingly sweet....black and red ripe cherry.....immediate heady resonance and reverberance even before you swallow......very earthy in a great way. This is a great food wine and went wonderfully with simple big, fatty, rare grilled lamb chops. 92+

March 14, 2016 - Leather nose, gamey taste. Very structured. Immediate richness on palate. Some reduction. Opened up over the tasting but think needs food to really shine.
