  October 30, 2013 - I think I can only go 88 on this. It did have some funk on the nose and on first sip. Not in a corked way, but still a little odd. That dissipated to some extent but not completely. There was good fruit, and quite a bit of smoky oak. As this opened up, and we had it with Braised Chicken, it did get better. Was still a bit of something not perfect - not corked but a kind of metallic taste. Not my favorite Spring Valley and I am a huge fan. Still enjoyable though

  October 29, 2011 - 14.8% Tart black cherries and plums on the nose and palate precede a nice cocoa note on a medium length finish. Very fine tannin's and great acidity define this bottle, went great with pizza.
