January 25, 2021 - A nice nose of smoked meat and dried flowers is exhaled.

The palate is very silky, the touch is magnificent. The material is there, with a lot of flexibility and juice. We find the dominant dried flower, it is very beautiful, very smooth, the wine is evanescent like an old pinot noir. Very nice balance. The finish is however a bit short which is a bit frustrating when you see the overall level.

Excellent but a bottle that deserved to be drunk a few years ago, the wine has clearly passed his peak.

July 24, 2019 - Tarry nose, still retains fruit and freshness.

May 26, 2019 - After an hour in the decanter the rose petal florals had intensified, and it had a hint of earth and licorice too. The palate was rich and heady, with a dense core of ripe cherries. It was silky of texture, with outstanding depth and presence. It is an ethereal wine, totally engaging the whole bottle through and drinking right in the zone.

October 18, 2018 - This was totally mature with soft tannins and reduced acidity but the balance was impeccable and the silky texture beguiling. Smooth dark fruits still remain with notes of smoky forest floor and captivating spices. The finishes is satisfying with a subtle complexity. A regal wine and a great example of perfectly mature Nebbiolo.

July 22, 2018 - Ruby. Open-knit nose of sweet florals, mixed spice, dried cherry, and leather. Silky texture, with tannins that remain grippy and fresh, flavors of earthy dark fruit. The finish is long and broad. The 1990 Gallina di Nieve is surprisingly youthful and juicy at nearly 30 years of age but I hoped for more complexity. (Bottle number 0266)
