November 1, 2020 - Very pale garnet color. Delicately perfumed nose of underripe raspberries, tea leaves, dried blood, and an occasional whiff of a nearby horse.
Palate is cherry, decayed leaves, leather, great savory balance here. A lick of tannin and resonant acidity round out a palate that seems to gain in power as it settles in. A mature, generous, and charming Beaucastel floating off into Chambolle heaven.

Tasted March 21, 2009 at an offline.

Opened and poured over 2 hours before serving. Garnet color in the glass, dusty looking. Nose of berries, cherries and earth. Flavors of berries and cherries. Moderate acidity, resolved tannins, medium body maybe. Drink now. Served double blind. My guess was an aged Chateauneuf du Pape, likely the 1998 Pegau.

August 12, 2005 - 43 bottles of Château Beaucastel with Bob Parker (Mark's Duck House, Falls Church, VA): I rather liked this. Light and elegant, nicely mature, a very pretty, feminine style of wine that is drinking surprisingly well.
