November 21, 2016 - Crazy nose of thyme - really really spicy and interesting. This wine was poured into the glass 3 hours before tasting. It would probably have benefited from a bit less time. Some in the group felt this was over the hill. I did not think so but it was fading. Nose was like a 95 score for me and palate ~88 points, so I give it a 91. If you own some pop the cork now, check in how much decant it needs, a short decant may be better.

April 23, 2013 - Red fruit, spice, slight savory, soy sauce, slight floral element, slight earth. On the restrained side - takes awhile to open. Opened bottle 3 hours prior and could have used more time. Strong minerality. Nice acidity. Feels like it could use more time to develop stronger secondary characteristics but not sure if fruit will last. Really enjoyable.

December 12, 2010 - Birthday wines; 12/10/2010-12/14/2010: Dark red fruited with earth and truffles. Regal and poised and reserved. Good depth of pretty red fruits and still youthful.

December 11, 2010 - Alex's Birthday BBQ (Alex's place): A very decent matured red Burg, but just that little bit disappointing for Le Chambertin. Nice enough nose, with a profile that suggested a commune perhaps further south, with rich scents of kirsch, red cherries, strawberries and perfumy flowers backed-up with truffle and wet earth scents. The palate was nice as well - rich, yet clean, with more mushrooms and truffles, plenty of spice, some crushed black cherries, and savoury meatiness just bubbling under the surface. A nice open finish rounded the wine off, showing some mineral, orange peel and and a tail of flowers and spice all held up by lovely acidity and a sense of structure. With time, more clean red fruit flavours started emerging. All in all, a nice package that was drinking well, just lacking some real Grand Cru punch on the mid-palate.
