Community Tasting Notes 8

April 24, 2022 - Poured at a special tasting at the winery. Not quite as impressive as the 2000 Stolpman Syrah, this was lovely nonetheless. More fruit forward than the Stolpman, with plums, blackberry liqueur, peach, lavender and fireplace ash. After 20 years, this still has a decade left in her. Worth Seeking Out.

January 21, 2021 - Red and black raspberries, roasted meats, and intense smoke. Starts off really nice with a great balance between the fruits and other elements but then becomes austere and drying on the finish. The smoke is a little overwhelming. Very nice but not my style.

April 4, 2014 - Color: dark ruby -> medium dense ruby rim; no noticeable signs of bricking. Nice aged, brambly nose of raspberries, leather and a little bacon. Palate is medium bodied, showing primarily punchy red fruit and, unfortunately, not a lot of complexity. Finish is shortening up a bit with tannins and acid both taking over --an indication that it's time to drink this up.

February 24, 2012 - Last of six. Nie enough, but the fruit is mostly gone, and the remaining wine is high pitched and a bit astringent.

February 14, 2010 - great nose of spice, cinnamon. oil thick....opaque. Not much in the flavor range....a bit asleep.
