September 15, 2007 - Medium red browning along the rdge showing a bit of age. Dried herbs on the nose. Medium weight with tart cherry fruit and a hint of oxidation. Starting to fade so drink up. Not quite as concentrated and broad shouldered as I had hoped or expected for a SuperTuscan. A good drink but not special.

July 2, 2007 - Dinner with the Astorettes as we bid good bye to Acky (EU): A touch maderized at first, very violetty and high toned with contrasting strong notes of oyster shells and caramelly oak notes. Quite soft and well integrated in the mouth with a lovely mouthfeel but the flavors are delicate and on the earthy side, a touch astringent with lots of furry tannins right up the gumline, chewy with a bit of a roasted edge to the plummy fruit. A bit pedestrian.
