December 15, 2019 - Delicious. Many, many years to go on this one. Liquid essence of walnut and raisins, sweetness is moderate, held very in check by excellent acidity. Nice wine.

January 30, 2016 - This beautiful wine had the color of a deep amber sherry, a golden-red that still clung to its translucence. I swirled the glass and waited for what seemed like an eternity for the legs to make their way down the sides of the glass. The nose delighted me with a very strong aroma of candied fig and plum, it had so many characteristics of a sherry but everything married beautifully to suppress any unpleasantness the 18% ABV might have offered. On the tongue it immediately gave notes of dried apricot and dates, subtle hints of anise and a very slight nuttiness with a touch of molasses. This full bodied gem had an amazingly silky texture but surprisingly wasn't the slightest bit heavy. The finish was long and enjoyable giving a slight taste of honey and an slight herbality that very slowly faded. This Rivesaltes was a sweet red wine that brought amazing character and complexity that just wouldn't give up.

October 11, 2014 - A gift for my wedding day. Wow, what an absolutely stunning wine. My first time having such a wine (Rivesaltes).

The wine was surprisingly fresh, notes of dried apricot, fig, and dates- a slight nuttiness (salted Marcona almonds)- I was expecting more nuttiness, but a pleasure either way. On the palette, big toffee- raisin notes that give way to candied orange rind, sweet fermented tobacco, and sweet lambs leather. A stunning wine.
