February 11, 2016 - I'm with Zweder. Unusual blend where the Sangiovese and Pinot noir produce a fruit forward, chocolate and red fruit profile. Really good effort. Will buy more.

September 17, 2015 - Monthly tasting club "The Tasting Club" 2015-06; Tuscany (except Chianti) (@ My place): A very special bled from South Africa: 52% Sangiovese, 17% Pinot Noir, 15% Nebbiolo, 8% Mourvedre, 6% Syrah and 2% Barbera. The bouquet is quite rustic with red fruits, toast, minerals, laurel, lavender and other flowers. On the palate quite special with minerals, toast and some chocolate. Mild acidity and soft tannin. Something really special and certainly not unpleasant, but nothing which reminds of Italy.

October 11, 2013 - Had this wine in London last year Thanksgiving and bought a few bottles when we returned. Lovely wine, and their other wines are great as well. I cannot quite put my nose on the nose - subtle notes of dirt, cassis, red cherry. The finish is a little light.

October 5, 2012 - Unusual and sublime, personally one of the most complex and intriguing wines we've tasted...it is rated 100 in our own cellar but is on the expensive side so that it the public detractor.

If you're wanting something out of the ordinary for your palate, try this wine, it will not disappoint.

August 24, 2012 - Big Bottle Festival (Cellars Hohenort): Made up of Sangiovese with Pinot Noir, Nebbiolo, Mourvedre, Barbera and a dollop of Shiraz the wines shows leather, tar and Bing cherries. Rather attractive Barolo-like notes, but with sweeter on entry with a soft, easy-going entry, oak spices and a generous alcohol. Already developing nicely with some savoury and earthy nuances adding complexity. Lovely!
