Community Tasting Notes 8

July 21, 2022 - First taste is all mouth watering fresh fruit and a secondary flavor of prune. Middle and finish are full mouth with a hidden touch of tannin.

February 8, 2018 - Huge wine leading with big, big, big fruit....Almost as dense as passito. Very high alcohol but it is totally unnoticed in the wine being balanced out perfectly with fruit and acidity. Finish is long and fruity with mild-medium tannin. A lovely wine and the best Montepulciano I have ever had.

December 4, 2017 - Luscious, huge fruit of plums, a touch of dates and dark brooding berries that melds into heavy red raspberries and dark ripe Montmorency cherries. Its a bit sweet throughout and the 15+% is handled beautifully. The finish is slightly acidic fruit and a smooth supple tannin. This is a super wine and it went well with grilled chicken and chicken vermicelli rice and it did fine with a spicy pumpkin pie. Interesting!

September 22, 2015 - Incredibly luscious. Strong vanilla oak... a little too sweet or I would have rated this as one of the best wines I have ever tasted. My wife loved it.

January 2, 2015 - This is one of the few times that I have reasons to suspect that a wine is artificially flavoured in some way. This wine smells of pure dark chocolate, as if chocolate flavour has been added afterwards. Some sence of dark berries, plums and dark cherries are also present, alongside cinnamon and other sweet spices. On the palate it is full-bodied and velvety-textured with noticeable sweetness and 15% alcohol is nicely handed. Aftertaste is long and again leaves a bitter chocolate flavour. Not a food wine unless you pair it with venison with chocolate sauce, but goes perfectly with bitter chocolate.
