August 13, 2023 - Drank at Copake with lunch yesterday. Pretty yellow color in glass. Reticent nose, slight aromas of citrus. No petrol. More oily, viscous & bigger weight on the palate than expected, lots of green apple fruit with notes of lime. A bit sweet on the long finish. Drinking nicely right now. Nice, easy drinking inexpensive riesling that has held up very well.

March 29, 2022 - Nose is restrained. Maybe some lemon oil with coaxing. Pleasant mid weight mouth. Delicate but fairly long finish is still doing well with a touch of herbal bitterness. Not complex by Donnhoff standards, but very pleasant to drink.

January 11, 2021 - Nice enough I suppose with a hint of petroleum on the nose, lots of crackling acids (somewhat muted) and sweet fruit still playing together nicely. It's surprising/not surprising how well these Kabinett's hold up. I have a few more bottles left and will be in no hurry to open them.

January 14, 2017 - I very much enjoyed this. It's got a savory finish that keeps me coming back for more. And is remarkably fresh for 15 yrs old. Maybe a bit too open knit on the midpalate, but that's really a nit for this wine.

December 1, 2016 - Nice Riesling. Good balance between sweetness and acidity without being overly sweet or acidic. Still very young and vibrant with absolutely no hint of age despite its 14 years. Peach flavors with a short/medium finish.

Rockss and Fruit

(Donnhoff Oberhauser Leistenberg Kabinett) White flowers, peach pit, other pitted fruits. Sweet apple on the fat, lush and very ripe palate. Little bit of an almost apple cider spice quality on the finish. Tremendous minerality and complexity to this wine.
