December 31, 2021 - My last bottle. Medium garnet in color. Nose of damp leather, sous-bois, and wet flowers. Weightless on the palate, exudes elegance and depth. A beautiful, fully mature wine.
The pairing of aged Nebbiolo with fatty sashimi is just mesmerizing. It beats any other sashimi pairing in my opinion. The umami notes both in the wine and soy sauce are a match made in heaven.

October 12, 2018 - I've been drinking this for the last few years and every time I pop one it's better than the last. Totally overlooked wine. This is right at the peak of maturity and I didn't think it was going to get any better but it does.
Hunting fragrant & layered nose, with gorgeous florals, wet forest floor, damp cellar, damp leather jacket, tobacco, dried dark cherries, bruised plums and balsamico. Beautiful feel and balance, high acidity, supple middle and super refined tannins to close.
An almost perfect bottle that exudes elegance. It shows off that weightless power and aromatic depth of great nebbiolo.

January 27, 2017 - Still singing. Entering the peak of maturity but this party is far from over. Earthy, fruitful and fresh.

November 21, 2014 - $20 end of bin sale. Barbaresco in a bottle. Grapes are just a medium to express a place, its soil and its people. This bottle has accomplished that. It smells and tastes of Barbaresco.

December 16, 2011 - Jez IV annual Festive drinks (16th Dec 2011) - was a little worried that this might have been way past its drinking window. Nope, it was drinking beautifully. Bricking with brown tinge in the glass, a nose of spice with some earth mixed in with flowers. Lovely balanced and a drying finish. Would this be even better with some food ? Some kind of game, maybe ? Probably.
