Community Tasting Notes 8

March 4, 2016 - Good basic Nebbiolo. Not a lot of fruit, lots of earth, some tannins lingering. It was a bit flabby on the mid palate. Good value, might not get any better.

April 16, 2014 - Gourmet Traveller wine nebbiolo tasting (8 Danks street, Sydney): Slightly bretty notes, meaty, slight cork taint. Very tannic. Dominates the palate completely. Meh.

October 27, 2013 - I'm going to pick up a few more bottles tomorrow and hang onto them. When I first opened it last night it came across as earthy, mushroom and very very dry. Thanks to this site, I came back to it today and d*mn was I happy in letting it air out. My significant other didn't recognize it from last night either. More of a nice pinot with some tannins today, great length. Still spicy, even cedar.

If you are a lover of Nebbiolo, but want to cellar your more expensive versions, this is the wine for you. It sings with roses and dried cherry aromatics, firm but manageable tannins, and a structure that will surprise, especially at this price point.

July 24, 2013 - Colour- crimson ruby. Nose- dark raspberries currents, orange peel, sweet spice savouriness from slovenian oak. Palate- good ripe nebbiolo richness upfront, dark berries and red fruits balanced acidity, nod to new world, good oak frame, tannins very approachable. a great premium nebbiolo and a fantastic launching pad before experiencing barolo.

May 4, 2012 - I really liked this wine - softer and fragrant, a Nebbiolo that is fine for early consumption. It does benefit from some airtime upon opening and is a better glass the next day.
