January 11, 2024 - M4. CDT tasting at 84 Yesler. Beautiful wine with deep nose of wood and spice. Palate backs it up.

October 10, 2021 - Dom Pérignon / Vosne-Romanée Tasting-cum-Lunch (Restaurant Slagerij De Beurs, Amsterdam, NL): Second bottle from a full case. Lacks charm. Neither here nor there. Spicy, ripe fruit, not really disjointed but not really together either, quite tannic, drying finish.

April 24, 2021 - Lovely villlsge wine. Clear red with just a lighter edge. Medium red fruit with dark undertones. Eminently balanced with medium length and weight. Dry roses on the nose. In the heart of its drinking window. Excellent. Opened 3 hours ahead with a 75 minute decant.

January 29, 2021 - First bottle from en primeur case. Brick red to orange at the rim - looking mature. Floral nose of rose and violets, some blackberry fruit too. Medium bodied, still firm, fruit slightly lacking. Villages bottling so temper your expectations: I think this is very much ready for business and limited upside from holding further.

April 23, 2020 - Nice and balanced. Fully mature and open. Could last a few more years. Nice earthy, strawberry and sweet cherry on the palate.

April 21, 2020 - I am so happy to have at last had an iteration of this wine that wasn't mean. Fine yes, but with fine Vosne elegance and maybe the merest hint of sweetness. Enough fruit to believe that this could still have an upside.

July 6, 2019 - First bottle from a full case purchased en primeur from a reputable merchant. Attractive nose, open and ready for business, minerally and fresh, primary fruit and some tertiary development, with a modicum of Vosne spice box; medium bodied palate, silky attack, firm structure, lacks a certain 2009 generosity; tight and drying finish, but length is very good. Best with food - it accompanied spicy sausage ragù tonight, but I am not blown away.

March 17, 2019 - Light red with a few darker red patches. Very faded and orange at rim. Intense nose of strawberry and perfume. Quite soft on the palate and not at all edgy - well-balanced, supple and long. Delicious! And even better on day 2.

December 29, 2018 - Bottle 10 of 12 from a case and no less disappointing than those that have preceded it. Absolutely nothing about this wine excites me. Yes it is a mere village but the overriding sensation is one of perpetual anticipation. I have waited nigh on ten years so describing this wine as shy would merely be a kindly euphemism for characterless. It is dilute rather than mineral, anodyne as opposed to understated and as limp as it is limpid. I have never wished for a 2009 to be more typical of its vintage.
