October 7, 2012 - Last bottle from this vintage. CT Ratings are correct - this wine's time has passed. Brownish-tinge. A bit funky on the nose. Still some dark fruit and earth aromas. The core of this wine has fallen out. No finish. Not awful but far from enjoyable.

May 25, 2012 - Muted fruit and earthy and coffee notes, with reasonable acidity. Past its prime. Drink up.

September 15, 2009 - Very nice wine, perhaps a bit past its prime. Cabernet dominates, but the Sangiovese shows through nicely, especially after the wine opened up a bit. A little barnyard (in a pleasant way), some raspberry, and a hint of peculiar flower, which may well be the violet that some other reviewers mentioned. Overall a good wine, and a good pairing with the gnocchi my wife made.

December 7, 2008 - Similar to previous bottle but the fruit is evolved toward pleasant barnyard with tobacco and tar elements as well. Balanced and very nice overall but drink now considering the direction the fruit is headed. Brett starting to take over. 89-90

September 19, 2008 - Dark garnet to rim. Integrated aroma with these elements - tobacco, tar and a hint of sweet violets. No primary fruit remains. Add pleasant barnyard to flavor. Cabernet dominates, as it should, 80%, but the sangiovese makes its mark. Balanced, medium/full concentration, soft, almost lush texture and sneaky, light tannin building over time. Perfect now or hold for a couple more years. Very good and excellent at the table. Maybe 91.
