August 10, 2020 - Opened for one hour and then decanted for one and a half hours. Decanting for three hours might have been a better plan. Drinking very well with not signs of tiring.

July 26, 2020 - Apples, berries, cherries, plums, lavenders, roses, violets, and black truffles in the rich and elegant nose; fruity and savory with harmonious complexity and depth on the palate; lingering long finish; overall, 96-97 points at this stage; my wine of the night.

July 10, 2020 - A monster. At age 25 this looks indestructible. So much fruit concentration on the attack and nice long aftertaste. Seemed liked it needs more time...weird !

June 29, 2020 - This needed some swirling to shake of some cellar funk but then developed into a wonderfully aged Napa Cab. Not decanted, this opened up with more time in the glass and getting better by the minute. Coming from perfect storage and provenance this was one of the fresher and younger bottles which definitely needs more time in the decanter (or cellar) to reach the heights the best bottles of Dominus 94 in terms of teritary expression and complexity. 95-96

TN: After a few minutes the nose showed a wonderful tertiary Cab expression with intense leather, truffles, forest floor and some barnyard funk. Additional aromas of sweet dark and red fruits, cola, herbs, curshed rocks on the palate. Medium+ expressive and quite precise. Not as complex as the best bottles but still great. Creamy texture and high freshness, very round but not yet fully melted tannins. Medium+ finish.

Decanting: This bottle would have needed at least 3-4 hours in the decanter. Other bottles I‘ve had didn‘t need any decanting.

(Dominus) What a nose! Leather, jammy fruit, smoke, oak, mocha, hint of dried cherry. Reminded me of a 1990 Montrose I had recently on the nose. The palate was pretty good. No complaints here. Glyceril, jammy, super-ripe, balanced, layered, and long. Lighter than I expected. I never have had Dominus until tonight and it was everything it was built up to be. Easily the most Bordeaux-like Cali wine I have ever had. Still though it has that jammy fruit aspect that distinguishes it. Very nice.
