July 14, 2021 - I last had a bottle of this almost two years ago and it was drinking OK. The same is true today but a little less. Plummy, earthy nose. The palate is a but muted but still nice. Plums, black cherries, blackberries. Fine tannins, nice acidity and balance. It remains a bit muted across the plate. Finishes moderately long and a bit spicy. Seems just a bit hot (14.1% ABV). Still some pleasure to be had but past prime. Drink up.

December 4, 2019 - This was a real surprise. Vibrant red in color, slight fading at the edges. A small bit of funk on the nose which quickly blew off leaving nice cherry notes. Still vibrant fruit on the palate, black cherries, plums. Smooth tannins, decent acidity, good balance. A bit of a green note on the moderately long finish, but nothing off-putting. With air, the nose brightened with some lovely cherry fruit and spice notes. The greenness on the finish also disappeared. An overall smooth mouthfeel. I have no doubt this is past prime, but it still drinks very well.

October 27, 2017 - Chocolate. Vert drinkable at 5 years old. Too bad we don't have another bottle. Soft tannins. Needed about an hour to really open. Velvet mouth feel.

April 29, 2012 - So sad last one from a mixed case bought back in 05. How to cope with the loss of a another bottle held for so many years. Cork broke ...that sux. Ok the nose, a soft mineral dustiness that prevails then giving notes to licorice and dark chocolate. Stewed black raspberries can be defined as well. The palette is strong, and very acidic. This is a bold wine with alot of structure and medium bodied tannins. The finish is medium, and leaves a bit of astringent scratchiness on my young. Over all a pretty tasty wine and will be missed. Only open about a half an hour and definitely needs more time to open up. Most likely will finish over the next day.

April 28, 2012 - Delicious, smooth, like velvet on the tongue.
