January 3, 2013 - I expected this to be a bit tired and faded (based on a just-barely-over-the-hill 2004 bottle I had recently), but this is still fresh, vibrant and relatively youthful. Really delicious and ready to drink now with pretty red fruits, some baking spice and a touch of earth. Shows a tiny bit of heat, but not enough to detract from the pleasant surprise of how well this otherwise showed....Drink it up in the next year or three!

September 25, 2011 - Last bottle, and something was definitely off ... Volatile aromas and pruney flavors; not at all like previous bottles.

April 10, 2011 - really improved with age. I should not have doubted Ed.

August 3, 2010 - Consumed over 2 days, this was just beautiful on day 2. Elegant red fruit, good tannins and acidity, there was little to not like in this wine. On day 1, there had been some greenness, but it wasn't obtrusive. Day 2, all red fruit. Outstanding.

August 9, 2009 - Popped and poured and then consumed over 4 hours. Medium-bodied wine that is dark ruby in color. On the nose, red fruits and x-mas spices. On the palate, cherry liqueur, rhubarb, and cloves on a very long 30-40 second finish. Blessed with pure, mouth-filling fruit, this wine is nicely balanced and has a pleasing acidic lift. Plenty of life left in this wine, though I'm not sure whether it will improve or simply hold steady before beginning a slow decline. I have to say that this wine has stayed consistent and delicious throughout its life!
