March 28, 2024 - Pall Mall 67 Singapore- BYOB by dear friend. An open Barthod!!! A rarity! This mixes dark fruit character of riper year with good freshness. Without looking at label this feels like 13% ABV not 14% or above. Complexity on the nose with brambly notes. This strikes me as reasonably evolved already and is in a drinking window of sorts. Classic in a non-classic vintage ?
January 7, 2024 - Needed a lot more air than I last remembered, tannic structure still very present. But after a couple of hours air this softened and was as delicious as I remembered. Next bottle should be decanted a couple of hours before drinking.
July 23, 2023 - Much more oomph than the 08, and much less (thank god) than the 05, but pretty backwards. I’m sure this wine could be good, but last night it was not. Maybe it just needs more time.

July 22, 2023 - Fuees Dinner (DJCV as host) (Brooklyn, NY): Tightly wound and backwards. Dominated by oak treatment here. Structurally much bigger and similar in style to the 05. Lacking in elegance and not particularly sophisticated. Will likely improve with age, but was not a top performer by any means today.
September 11, 2022 - Had it after the Vosne les Beaux Monts 2002 from Bruno Clavelier. This one is younger with more grip, but well accessible. Totally on the red fruit side (cranberries), some soil and salty notes. Fresh and long high class Barthod Chambolle. Excellent now, maybe 2-3 years from its peak.
December 15, 2021 - Light ruby core. Initially plum and red berry aromas, later joined by more menthol-great secondary perfume. Light to medium body with a rich, rounder clay base. Gorgeously ripe but not overtly sweet cherry and strawberry, the soil as above, tangy acidity, and not much in the way of residual tannin. This just slays with its seductiveness and poise. Not a lot of indication that it will improve with more time since it is so resolved, but I will happily settle for where it is right now.
July 31, 2021 - Gorgeous ripe red fruit, earthy notes altogether with a nice salinity, needed a bit air after opening, but it is fully in its drinking window.
April 24, 2021 - Great Dinner April 2021: Bottle breathe for 1.5 hours. Already passed the peak at serving, which was (and was not) a surprise given Ghislaine Barthold and 2009 vintage. When a GB bottle is good, this could be really good. This one however tasted like old burgundy in 90s (if not 80s) but still drinkable. Drunk up in 30-40 min.
