Community Tasting Notes 12

October 13, 2020 - This is still nice but on the downhill. Still that earthy rubbery flavor inassociated with earlier bottles. Just weaker. Less complexity and less fruit.

September 12, 2019 - Lovely nose of tar and burnt wood that continues on the palate, but is immediately balanced with lovely vibrant red fruit. This is a lovely and smooth package at the moment. On the border between an animalistic and feral wine and smooth balanced and intriguing fruit. Still some very fine grained tannins. This will last a while longer. It will only get better for those who love old wines with lots of subtle tertiary flavors. For me this is in its sweet spot.

July 18, 2013 - Last bottle of an old friend. Sweet red cherry, lavender, olive, tobacco, and a hint of game. Delicious. Drinking beautifully.

April 13, 2012 - Sweet black cherry, spice, smoke, absolutely delicious. A fully mature rhone.

November 2, 2010 - PnP. Violet red with hint of brown. Really singing. Dark fruits/berries, spice, earthy notes on nose and palate. Medium fruit intensity, soft texture but with fine acidity, mineral and balancing tannins. Nicely complex, some finesse. Stately, not elegant. This has aged beautifully and I would expect this to not get appreciably better. Easily on par to a pricier CdP.
