October 14, 2019 - Showed quite well. 2009 vintage definitely left its mark - ripeness is there, but this was showing much more freshness and aging potential than some critics seemed to portend there would be at 10 years of age. These wines are always built for the long haul.

September 14, 2019 - Another very good bottle. This has been consistently excellent.

September 5, 2019 - Expressive youthful nose displaying ripe black fruit, blackberry concentrate, a hint of black cherry, plum, rose, dark spices and strong iron like mineral. Excellent concentration, nicely layered concentrated ripe black fruit, silky, good acidity and iron/earthy mineral, still noticeable but fine tannins and a medium to long ripe black fruit driven finish with a hint of rose and iron/earth at the end. The iron/earthy note and the ripe fruit expression clearly express the terroir and the vintage. Although expressive, it remains youthful and not showing much sous bois. I would love to try another bottle in five years.

August 18, 2019 - I probably have enough wine, but this may be worth hunting for in the gray market while some other things get a bit more bottle age. Drinking soooo good right now.

April 19, 2019 - Young, but drinking beautifully, with great fruit, structure. The Gouges monopole may be one of the very best QPR values among 1er Crus in the Cote du Nuit.
