Community Tasting Notes 13

April 5, 2024 - Pop and pour. Mature, warming delight with furry tannins and campfire.

  • lozatron Likes this wine:

March 7, 2024 - Voge and Friends (Llewelyn's): Evidently this cuvee sees no new oak. A real explosion of purple, red fruit on the nose. On the palate - darker fruit maybe. This is really joyous wine - there's a lovely tannic structure to it that the fruit shines through - someone said that this offers "less of the full orchestra" than the great wines from Cornas - this is fair but - playing very well for me now. The table's 4th WOTN.

  • Vinumming & Ahhing Likes this wine:

March 6, 2024 - Voge & Friends (Llewelyn's Herne Hill, London): Really like this. Very well put together. Red fruits, some smoke and very moreish on the palate. No jagged edges. Très bien.

March 6, 2024 - Cornas, Voge and Friends (Llewelyn's, Herne Hill): A real explosion of fruit vs the 2005 Durand, night and day. It's dark, inscrutable, luscious, and brimming with life. Just a lovely nose. I also find a bit of gloss, a bit of sheen that with time in glass surrounds the black and blue berry fruit and somehow lifts it. There is also a spicy tannic cresendo that is right on the money for my tastes. Young but ready to go. Lovely wine and my #3 WOTN.
