Community Tasting Notes 11

August 14, 2021 - No formal notes. Decanted for 2hrs, quite a lot of sediment. Very good dark fruit with good balance of tannin and acidity. Probably at peak, drink up.

December 5, 2020 - on the nose, blackberries. some strawberry, plum, black olive. lots of sediment in the shoulder of the bottle. colour is a deep purple in the glass. tannin and acidity are both present, nice balance overall. a slight bitterness is detectable but it doesn't detract. a nice crisp finish with some length. lovely, particularly at this price point.

March 2, 2020 - 1hr decant - lots of chucky sediment. Very fragrant, dark fruit, plum and touch of blackcurrant. Slightest hint of acetone, but not too strong. Quite tannic entry, but a full rich palate with a bit of acidity as the tannin dies away. Long, persistent finish. A very good to excellent wine, probably around its peak, although I don’t think there is any major rush to drink up.

March 24, 2019 - Last and best bottle of 12. Decanted just before dinner as it has a lots of sediments. Mature Syrah at its peak, on the nose quite intense and complex. on the palate starts very elegant with good acidity, gets more intense with additional air, long finish. Best with food, drink now or during the next three years (it cannot get better than now), good price to quality relation, will buy it again.

March 19, 2017 - PnP. Nice nose with red and black berries and first tertiary notes, fresh and still a bit tart, but softens when drinking next to the beef, medium length. 89 points.

Had opened a bottle before the one above, we all thought it is corked and put it away. After 24 hours, before pouring it out I tried a sip and what a surprise, there was nothing wrong and it was much more open than the bottle yesterday. Quite mature, round and concentrated, dominated by tertiary aromas, long finish, superb. 91 points.
