February 18, 2020 - Commanderie des Costes du Rhone - JM Gerin Dinner (Knickerbocker Club): One of my favorites in the younger group. This is a wine from mostly old vines and one of the classics of the Gerin estate. 100% syrah from schiste soil. It's got the brooding and darker notes and the brine and a hint of the metallic and overall quite nice. Would like more age on it so that it can develop a touch more nuance to it (see it a bit with the '01 we had later). Nice wine though.

January 7, 2019 - Loved it !! One of the highlights of Christmas for me. Long, reasonably silky, beautiful fruit. 2 hour decant, great fine structure, elegant, still good fresh acid (even for 2009) and nice fine balanced tannin.
Fabulous. Drinking well however would be good to leave for another 3-5 years.

February 18, 2018 - Very very fine tannin. Chocolate, coffee and slight liquorish with blueberry and strawberry. Very fine tannin. Good but not great, however lovely balance. Minor Southern Rhone funk. Another couple of years would help.
