Community Tasting Notes 5

September 21, 2016 - Popped and poured. This has certainly picked up points in my book since my last tasting, in which the wine seemed too young, whereas this bottle was right in the slot. Smooth, deep, and delicious if not overly complex. Drink within the year, though: not falling apart by any means, but I think this is likely as good as this will get, so go for it.

December 30, 2014 - P'n'p. Dark, nearly opaque purple red; magenta meniscus. Medium light body, long finish. Tasty, but seems very young on opening. Used a cup in a Bolognese sauce. Two hours of air, and a glass or so with the meal. The fruit is kind of backward, the mid palate is hollow, and there is an oaky, metallic note that slightly mars the finish. Maybe another year or two sideways is the answer.

July 1, 2012 - Drank from a half bottle, open and breath in bottle for 4 hours.
It has a dense core with dark crimson hue, a perfume nose with plenty of white pepper spice, plum and blueberry. Good weight, young and primary fruits character on palate, purple fruits, blue berry, white pepper and hints of vanilla. It has typical flavour profile of a young Rhone wine but lack the finish to be considered a good wine.

March 12, 2012 - Surprisingly nice for the price. Fresh and drinkable now, though likely better with a bit of bottle age. Not much though, seems like this will be best on the youngish side for N. Rhone.
