March 21, 2016 - Nice black cherry peel colour with slightly brown rim and low plus optical density. Good intensity nose, with bacon, funky earth, and some burnt tire dominating over fruit (plum, cherry, and red berries, with a hint of dark fruits on the back end), with aromatic floral aspects woven underneath. Sappy mouthfeel, with round tannins, medium plus acidity, and a nice array of flavours. The attack gives rich black cherry with cola and burned tire, with tart red berries and savoury bacon filling the midpalate. Some spice comes in on transition to the finish, which is lengthy and gives spicy cherry pie crust and some cola. Enjoyable, easy drinking, and with just enough substance to avoid an impression of cherry cola syrup. That said, it is simple and dense, with an impression of sweet fruit, and solid alcohol content. Seems to be a good example of NZ Pinot, well made, straightforward, and likely to be a crowd pleasing bottle. Not a lot of layers or complexity here, just decent wine for a fair price.

September 3, 2012 - yes, it is not so particular than others.
but I dont think we can get any Bourgogne at this level with this price (20 USD)
not a long age type, should be finished within 3 years

September 17, 2011 - A little bit stinky in the bouquet. On the palate ripe red fruits, mainly cherries and a touch of red paprika. Nice balance between sweetness and acidity. Full bodied and elegant at the same time. Although not really luxurious, certainly a very ok wine. Ready now and the next few years.

January 16, 2011 - Importer tasting (@ PA): More full bodied than the basic wine. Ripe black forest fruits and cherries. Soft tannin. Ok, but not really special.
