December 30, 2018 - WOW, nearly impenetrable black color. Smoky nose of charred wood and eucalyptus. This isn't as great as the last bottle I had, which really made an impression on me. This is good, very good, but lacks some complexity and precision. Loads of milk chocolate and cocoa as well. Miraculously, this is getting better and better with more time in the decanter. 92

April 16, 2018 - Still a very dark, saturated ruby-black. Fantastic nose of sweet black currants, eucalyptus, blackberry confiture, spice, cedar and charred wood. Full-bodied, with a thick texture, this has excellent density, tannin and acidity. Absolutely delicious right now with flavors that echo the aromas with the addition of milk chocolate covered cherries. Juicy, loaded with fruit and stacked. Drink now-2022+ 94

November 3, 2017 - dark brooding, wood flavors predominate, cedar, spice cinnamon, blackberries

June 10, 2012 - Opened about an hour before drinking. No signs of senility. No longer a fruitbomb, it still has some (mostly dark) fruit, but it also showed some coffee and a lot of spices. Nice texture, a good finish, smooth and balanced.

May 7, 2012 - This was a very nice bottle - a wine I enjoyed in its youth around 2005 it then went through a "hot"phase letting its alcohol dominate and I was concerned that it may have lost the fruit battle. Nice to say fears not validated. Briary on the nose with some deep cherry, the deep cherry was most prominant at entry with some tobacco underlying just the right amount of sweet fruit. The alcohol was fully tamed and the wine carried the weight of a properly mid-extract 10 year old cab. Nice wine. Just as good as in 2004, but different because of the current refinement.
