February 4, 2023 - Nose of Ribena, bay leaf, and campfire smoke. Very dark, slightly closed flavour profile of blackberry, clove, and graphite. Palate is intense, but very smooth, with lots of fine-grained tannin and a touch of bright acid. 16 years old, but still feels pretty young. I think it'll last another 10 years, at least.

    November 29, 2019 - Nice wine

April 30, 2016 - Enjoyed with lunch today and poured from Coravin. This wine was bought five years ago and kept at 55 since. It has NOT hit the end, but it's certainly not on the way up either. This wine opens with plum and clove. A blackberry note in the background is dying off to reveal a darker semblance of this wine. A hint of chocolate that was probably very present about 2-3 years ago was almost absent in the middle. Finishes with some tar, tobacco leaf. A hint of black pepper, tannin dropping out therefore has more of a grittiness. This wine was very enjoyable by itself. A herbaceous note that was present in the first 20 minutes died off and did not return. Given that this one is stored at 55, I'd probably give it about 1 or 2 years more.

March 13, 2016 - I think that this one finally hit it's end. I have been wondering how it was holding up so well but this one was ok at the opening but died after an hour and was undrinkable on day 2. Glad it is my last one.

October 27, 2015 - Soft nose, reminiscent of a warm fireplace, with notes of black fruit and anise. Palate is soft and slippery (some glycerin), but with intense tannin and acidity. Flavour resembles blackcurrant cordial, with notes of charred oak and vanilla.
