February 4, 2014 - Deep ruby in the glass, big nose of chocolate covered cherries, dust and wood. Tannins hit mid palate with a mouthful of dark fruits, spice and anise. Finish is a bit stingy. Nice expression of a small production handcrafted central coast Syrah.

January 27, 2013 - Dark fruits, dust, and black olives on the nose. Peppery spice, un ripe strawberry moving to plum on the palate. Nice bold tannins hit you right in the center of the tongue. Beet red with a long, spicy finish.

June 1, 2012 - Berries and dark fruit hit hard initially, followed by licorice, oak, spice, and heat. The heat from the alcohol is prevalent for me, but overall this bottle is a great showing of both varietal and craft. Went well with steak and salad, will try again in a year.

April 8, 2012 - Nice spice. At 14.9% - but it doesn't seem that hot.
