January 13, 2012 - Excellent balance of dark currant, chocolate, licorice, and cedar. Nicely integrated oak, with tannins at a near perfect level. In our opinion this wine has reached optimum age. Pity that this vintage is no longer offered, being sold out over a year ago, but those who still hold it will be richly rewarded for their patience.

March 2, 2011 - Initially the dark fruit dominates: blackberry, blackcurrant, blueberry with a relatively strong oak influence and strong cinnamon flavor. With more air, thirty minutes or more, the sour cherry and strawberry comes forward and the tannins seem to balance nicely with the ample acidity. The cinnamon, spice, and fruit integrate nicely at this point. The mouthfeel is rich and the flavors complex and still developing as the bottle is emptied toward the end of the evening. I think this wine will continue to age well for some years to come.
