  January 13, 2012 - Slow-O 2 hours, served at cellar temp, enjoyed over the following 2 hours. Full ruby, slight sign of age. Creamy oak, raspberry and strawberry, mineral and earth, a touch of herbs. The full-bodied palate shows the generous nature of the French oak first, and the varietal character second. Full bodied, with round, fine-grained tannins. Above-average acidity, medium finish. I still see some upside with this wine. I've been to these vineyards in Farigliano, and was very impressed with the exposures, soil and extremely steep hillsides. As these vines age, they'll be capable of much better quality fruit - I just hope (future) vinification is tempered a bit more to the traditional as opposed to international. Drink thru 2019, 13,5% abv, score: B+
