February 17, 2017 - Aged to perfection at this point. Oak nicely integrated and layer upon layer of flavor. Heady nose of fruit and spice. Black currant, blackberry, vanilla, cinnamon, and clove. Licorice, cedar, black pepper, and hint of smoke. This was a real treat!

February 12, 2012 - See note of 9/02/2011 for complete description. This one is still drinking well, perhaps even better with a bit more age. It's a substantial wine that needs a substantial dish to pair with. But the velvet texture makes sipping alone a satisfying pleasure.

September 2, 2011 - A substantial wine, strong alcohol at 15%, but nicely balanced, with tannins integrated well. Fruit leaned toward black currant, with vanilla, licorice and slight smokiness, and a bit of cinnamon on the finish. Heady, luscious aroma in the glass 15 min or so after opening. Oak is forward but not overpowering. This cab, temranillo, sangiovese blend is a unique pleasure! What's with the name? I understand it's named after the winery dog!
