November 30, 2022 - Dark ruby color with cherry and spice aromas. Decanted about 30 minutes and really opened up as we poured the first glasses. Great value on this wine.

February 16, 2016 - Good quality for a village wine. This Domaine has good quality/price wines, both red and whites. Drink now

January 2, 2016 - This was a lovely wine - at peak now, maybe a touch too alcoholic, but otherwise quite fat for a mere Bourgogne Rouge and delivering notes of cherries, violets and spices.

January 6, 2015 - Very classic Bourgogne that easily punches above its pedigree. This is pure and clean. Excellent complexity, with nice nuance and a dynamic fruit core. Red fruit, spice and a hint of cola. Terrific acidity. This is a top value.

December 31, 2014 - Simply outstanding again! Fresh, bright red cherry and currant. Amazingly, this bourgogne has layers and depth. Incredible price value for the quality of the wine.

September 6, 2013 - Had this tonight in Paris at Chez Les Anges off their list and really enjoyed it. Think this is a nice marriage of vintage and producer. Very fresh and vibrant with juicy red fruit and spice. Great silky texture. Very open and a real pleasure. Paid 44 euros off the list. I'll buy more of this if US retail is sub $30.

August 16, 2013 - From a high altitude hillside site above Savigny. Background: As I hadn't managed to keep this bottle in a perfect storage and it was from the warm and occasionally fruit-soupy vintage of '09, my expectations were pretty low. But what a bottle this turned out to be! Beautiful red fruit, ripe but not heady or sweet at all, charming on the nose and positively crunchy on the palate. Yes, crunchy, tasty! Well structured. The quality of the grapes must have been excellent, the high altitude location might have been optimal in '09. Possibly the best Appellation Bourgogne I've had. Hats off to Patrick Bize.

June 13, 2013 - Appealing nose - not at all hot or fruity. Very round mouthfeel and medium body. Drying tannins keep it from being too enjoyable. Not sure whether this needs time or simply won't improve. Decent, but not great.
