December 5, 2021 - On the nose, I found rich red raspberry frut, exotic spices, pepper, smoke, and a hint of olive. On the palate, the wine is relatively light in body and structure and smooth with minimal perception of tannin. The flavors remain youthful and primary with red raspberry, olives, and spices, but there isn’t much concentration / flavors seem diluted.

The wine is pleasant, but it’s hard to see where this is going given the lack of structure / concentration. The flavors remain primary so it may hold on for a while, but the wine might lack the stuffing to improve with age.

May 15, 2021 - 1st of 2 bottles, purchased at the winery on release and cellared since then.
Just a lovely example of how pretty the Syrah grape can be if the vines are grown in a lovely, cool climate like Anderson Valley, and the grapes are picked before over-ripeness. Weighing in at 14.6%, the wine is full in body, yet not syrupy or cloyingly heavy.
Black pepper, tar, plum skin, iron, and blood are all evident on the nose and palate. Savory notes of rhubarb and olive paste add depth, and the cool climate acidity shines through alongside softening yet still-gritty tannins, leading into a shorter-than-perfect, medium length finish. A very nice wine to pair with food, drink now through 2026 or so. Cornas-esque IMHO.

October 9, 2020 - Red raspberry from core to rim in color with an almost opaque core. Tertiary notes are now on display with the first pulling of the cork: deep tobo notes with a rich fruit element led primarily by blueberry. The wine is still fleshy with almost integrated tannins. Some coffee notes on the finish. As expected, the finish hasn’t lengthened or improved with time. Not a bad call to drink this now. Really no sediment. 13.6% alc. With leftover roasted pork loin, mustard, and blue cheeses. 10.09.20. Recommended.

March 22, 2020 - Bien meilleur que la première.
Aucun poivre cette fois ci. Syrah un peu gourmande sur des fruits noirs et des épices à steak. Belle finale douce-amère avec des tanins juste assez corsés.
    Excellent!!
