March 5, 2023 - Cork was a disaster but the wine is wonderful. Medium red, complex nose of dark fruits, balsamic (almost Nebbiolo like) and minerality. Deep dark fruit on the palate with complex forest floor and iron; tannins largely resolved. This will probably continue to develop for another 5 years or more - a testament to the vineyard and winemaking. Unfortunately my last bottle.

August 16, 2021 - Just like the other 2009 Littorai Pinot Noirs, this wine is delicious and at its peak !!
Perfect cork after over a decade in the bottle, removed easily. Consumed over two days. This balanced wine showed more fruit on the first day and had softened just a ton to reveal Burgundian complexity on the second day. Light ruby color with modest oxidation and medium clarity. Aromas of red cherry and cranberry. Flavors of bing cherry, pomegranate, rhubarb and forest floor. This Pinot Noir has a medium to long finish. A balanced and flavorful Pinot Noir that may have more years of life remaining, fortunately I still have one bottle of this vintage remaining in the cellar. A great fruit sources from the fabled Hirsch Vineyard which is located on a series of ridge tops ranging in elevation from 1,200 to 1,550 feet near the Pacific 12 miles north of Jenner in the far west part of the Sonoma Coast appellation of Sonoma County. Dijon 114, Dijon 777, Pommard and Swann clones planted on soils of Hugo gravelly loam and Hugo-Josephine complex. All of these elements and great winemaking from Ted Lemmon combine to consistently produce a fine Pinot Noir.

May 17, 2021 - Delicious dark red cherry and black berry aromas and ripe flavors with mineral and earth notes culminating in a moderate long savory finish.

March 19, 2021 - PnP. Medium deep red. Lovely nose of dark fruits, spice, and a ferrous component of minerality. On the palate this is quite full and ripe for Littorai; more as expected for the vintage and Hirsch. Lovely balance of fruit and secondary mineral and spice characteristics. Long and flowing finish with completely resolved tannins - at peak and much better than the last bottle.
