March 7, 2016 - Great Austrian CS/M blend, I like it even better than earlier bottles. Really ripe dark fruit, quite full-bodied, soft tannins, some tobacco and chocolate, refreshing, ripe and balanced acidity and fine high quality oak flavors, especially on then nose. Really excellent balance. This would be a great pirate in a right bank Bordeaux or Super Tuscan tasting. Probably at peak now, but no signs of age yet - so drink or keep. - 91 points

December 16, 2014 - Great blend of Cabernet and Merlot showing nice cassis and blackberry fruit, gentle tannins, gentle acidity, some ink and vanilla, a gentle touch of leather; gentle extraction and excellent oak management. An elegant and well-balanced wine. Drink now. - 90 points

January 10, 2014 - One of the better Austrian blends of Cabernet and Merlot, though this bottle had a light cork taint. This red 2008 from Auer shows ripe fruit with cassis and blackberries, gentle tannins, well integrated acidity, some ink and vanilla, a gentle touch of leather; gentle extraction and good oak management. An elegant food wine that is ready for consumption. - 89 points
