April 15, 2018 - I enjoyed this last night, though I think I would have enjoyed it even more maybe 2 years ago. There were lovely peach, wax, and wool flavors, and a light ginger note, and the mid-palate and finish were both quite long. It would have been very good with a creamy chicken dish, or perhaps a lobster risotto. The wine was in good shape right out of the bottle, it had a rich golden color and slight oxidation which called to mind Chenin, except the acid wasn't high enough for a Loire Chenin. Also, the alcohol stuck out a bit. It did call to mind the whites of the Northern Rhone, though without the concentration of an Hermitage. Served blind, a sommelier-friend initially thought it reminded him of Vouvray or a white Musar.
In the end, it was a bit easy-drinking and I wanted a bit more acid for the freshness and the balance, which is why I said I wish I'd opened it 2 years ago, but it was quite fine for a cold rainy night. -

July 1, 2017 - Great wine, very dry and full bodied. In fact voluptuous, but the bone-dry character makes it elegant. You have to be in for this..... I am.

October 13, 2016 - Same bottle as Salil. I liked this a bit better than he did. There are the waxy, darker notes present, but the higher acid than is typically encountered with some of these flavors gives it a nice lift. Perhaps the 10% Chardonnay included brightens it, too. Not sure I'd re-buy given then current price, but nice to try.

October 13, 2016 - More interesting than genuinely pleasurable for me. There's plenty of ripe citrus and white fruit at the core here, but it has a lot of the waxy and lanolin flavours I have a hard time getting past in many Southern Rhone whites. There's surprisingly bright acidity here, but still it's a wine that's hard for me to keep coming back to.
