belle concentration fruits noirs terreux et fume aucunement végétal comme certains cabernet franc parfois wow mais encore tres jeune -

November 17, 2014 - Spicy, dark fruit, smoke, undergrowth. Quite drying, really powerful and young, a little less refined than Clos du Chėne Vert at this stage, very aromatic, just pretty drying and tight right now. Needs time 90-91+

May 15, 2013 - Monthly Tasting Group HWS #079; France: Loire red wines. (by AW): Enormously concentrated bouquet with dark fruits, smoke and toasted oak…. too young. Same on the palate. Ripe cassis and other dark forest fruits. Chocolate. Good acidity. Mild tannin. Great length. Much too young, but impressive already. Next try around 2018 - 2020 or 5 years later…. 91++

September 5, 2011 - Terroir-istes International - Cabernet Franc from around the World (Rodwell House): Calcaire: more lime quality, Chinon. Medium to deep garnet. This also started closed and then had a slightly nutty, spicy oak character - possibly oxidative? Blackcurrants, some perfume, violet and funk seem to be the main attributes as the nose opened in glass. There is already some development with an open-knit, juicy wine with flavours of raspberries, blackcurrant leaf and oak spices supported by a firm, chalky tannins and a long finish.
